As far as rookie minicamps go, this year’s edition for the New Orleans Saints carries more intrigue than normal.

With the start of the New Orleans Saints 2024 minicamp just about a month away, we’re going to do an early projection of what the roster could potentially look like come week one. It is very likely that the team will be adding players here and there before the start of the season, but I believe this provides a good idea on where this team stands with the personnel they have at the moment.

The club announced the agreement on Thursday, a day before the opening of the Saints' three-day rookie camp.

Friday brings a big opportunity for a lot of players — the New Orleans Saints will join half the NFL in starting their rookie minicamp, giving dozens of first-year pros and journeymen free agents a chance to try out and earn a spot on the training camp roster. While this these three days of practices are emphasized on the Saints’ draft picks and rookie free agent signings, there will also be some veteran free agents trying out in hopes of continuing their careers.

And we should expect the Saints to sign a couple of players afterwards. They always find two or three players in these tryouts who stick around for training camp, and occasionally one of them makes the practice squad or even the 53-man roster when the season starts. It’s a tough path to take to the NFL, and they’ll all be working hard to go the distance.
