Correct. It's insane. Of the 7 players out injured, 6 are defenders.
Shaw
Malacia (who would be playing instead of Bissaka for Shaw)
Martinez
Lindelof
Varane
Johnny Evans.
That's 4 center backs and 2 left backs. And of the 4, Varane and Martinez would be starters Lindelof is a good bench player to start in pinch, Evans is older so more of a Plan C.
I think announcer stated today this is like the 30th different combo at defensive back this season. Varane comes n goes, Martinez, Shaw and Malacia have been long term recovery.
Put up a great second half but defense just not good enough to absorb good attacking teams.
Injury bug was bad one this year.
