I explained that I was speculating about what Isreali's saw in that, I also fully explained the reason I thought war kites might have factored into that.Also, while we're at it, let's assume there's a "war kite" situation happening. So, the refugees in Rafah are flying, what? Flaming kites? Molotov cocktail kites? Into what? The Egyptian desert? What's the threat here? They trying to make glass out of the sand with their flammable kites? What exactly is the implication here?
I Factored that in because the Palestinians of Gaza have actually been using various variations of war kites to attack Israel for a number of years.
That reasoning is why I thought the Israeli's laid down a warning near the wall for them to back off by using smoke.
As far as I know no one there was killed or inured by the use of smoke.
Those smoke shells are made to be used very close to our own troops to give them cover during an assault. Sometimes they are also used over an enemy position to obscure their vision. The point being they are fairly safe as things to use on a battlefield. As thus they can also be used for crowd control.
