Well, Israel has already used white phosphorous against innocents in Gaza (and Lebanon)

They've shot it at UN schools and on hospitals and maimed thousands. Wouldn't surprise me.
Well, that should totally clear up the question of did they use it on those kite flyers at the border wall today by clearly showing it as having been a false statement.

Here's what it looked like when Israel used white phosphorous before.

That is not at all like what was used on the border today.

It seems that Israel is the only one allowed, for some increasingly fantastical reason, to get the benefit of the doubt on anything.
I dont buy this at all. Maybe from more than a few people, sure. But no, they don't always get the benefit of the doubt. Certainly not Bibi, who i dont trust at all, and the IDF who i mostly don't trust.
Some watch a vid of Gazans getting riot controlled while flying kites and immedeatly default to "this whole thing SMACKS of Hamas' surreptitious kite technology".
That's not what was said. Mischaracterizing what I say gets old after a while.

Here's an older 2018 article about it to show you that this use of war kites by Palestinians has been going on for quite a while now

Interesting read, although "war kite" is maybe putting a little too much stank on it, especially the response from Israel officials all things considered. I've said before, but this runs deeper than just Bibi.

And FTR, I have zero issues with Palestinians kids and/or adults flying kites. But, time and place for it.

Fair enough, but the time is now and the place is Rafah, one of the ostensible last bastions of relief for Gazan refugees. One that is most likely gonna get the same treatment as the rest of Gaza pretty soon. Hardly the time to be speculating on the intentions of kite flyers imo.

US Air Force member sets himself on fire outside Israeli Embassy in Washington

CNN —
An active-duty member of the US Air Force set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, on Sunday, according to the Air Force and local authorities.

“The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3500 block of International Drive, NW, at approximately 1:00 p.m., to assist the United States Secret Service after an individual set themselves on fire in front of an embassy in the block,” the Washington Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement to CNN.

In a video of the incident, obtained and reviewed by CNN, the man identifies himself as Aaron Bushnell and says, “I will no longer be complicit in genocide” before going on to say that what he’s about to do is minimal compared with the suffering of Palestinians.

He then sets the recording device on the ground before pouring an unknown liquid over himself and igniting it while yelling “Free Palestine” repeatedly. He eventually collapses as police officers rush to douse the flames with fire extinguishers.

Rose Riley, a spokesperson for the US Air Force, told CNN, “I can confirm an active duty Airman was involved in today’s incident.”

The man was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, MPD said.

A spokesperson from the Israeli Embassy said, “no embassy staff were injured and are safe.”

By the time firefighters were dispatched to the scene, the fire had already been extinguished by the US Secret Service, according to Vito Maggiolo, a public information officer from DC Fire.

MPD said it is working with the Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to investigate the incident.

In December, a person set themselves on fire outside the Israeli Consulate in Atlanta in what police said was “likely an extreme act of political protest.” A Palestinian flag that was part of the protest was recovered at the scene, and gasoline was used as an accelerant, police and fire officials told reporters at a news conference.

Israel is waging war against Hamas in Gaza, after the group’s October 7 terror attacks that killed 1,200 people in Israel, according to Israeli authorities. The response has killed nearly 30,000 people in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.

This story and headline have been updated with additional developments.

Who's been speculating about the intentions of kite flyers?

I certainly didn't do that. In the first half of my post I explained in detail what I saw. In the second half I speculated as to what the Israeli's might have seen based upon what I saw, and the history of war kites, and current details about what I knew of the recent past in Gaza.

That second part is indeed speculation, but not about the intention of those kite flyers.

Then in a later post to you I said:

"Here's an older 2018 article about it to show you that this use of war kites by Palestinians has been going on for quite a while now"

Not a bit of speculation in that.

1) Wasn't a response to you, dunno why you thought it was....
2) As for the post you quoted, I quite literally responded to that.

Also, while we're at it, let's assume there's a "war kite" situation happening. So, the refugees in Rafah are flying, what? Flaming kites? Molotov cocktail kites? Into what? The Egyptian desert? What's the threat here? They trying to make glass out of the sand with their flammable kites? What exactly is the implication here?
