Carr looks like the QB who was benched and released last season after nine years of service to the Raiders.

He’s not HER, either. The days of our quarterback getting the best out of lessor talent are over. This guy couldn’t get his guys up if he force fed them viagra.
The guy has clean pockets or time to throw and still throws passes to the ghost of Danny Abramowitz.
Carr is an overpriced underperforming dud, and the way this team is constructed we are a long long way from seeing the playoffs.
I look forward to this thread being bumped when we make the playoffs.
Because he had no time to throw. The Texans were blitzing every one and the OL at that point had become a train wreck. He was unable to setup in any sort of pocket and survey the field. The OL has gone from a dumpster fire to a train wreck.
The sight adjustments and hot routes seem non-existent at times, but there are also plenty of examples of us throwing the hero fade when a quick crossing route is open underneath. I really think we have more of a Carr problem than an OC problem, with the Carr problem being heavily influenced by the OL problem.
It's a tough pill to swallow that we signed him to starter money for the next three years, I think @BayouSAINTJoe made a good point when he said this season would be more tolerable if we had Carr on a prove it deal. With the way this season has gone, do you think he would be on track to sign a $150m deal next year if he was a free agent next season?
I think the fact all QBs last year were trash and Carr this year is trash point to it being an offensive offense line and poor play calling.
So the real question is why spend 150 million in a four year deal and get a supposed major upgrade from Jameis Winston if you don’t fix those line and coaching issues first. It has been a complete waste of money due to incompetence of the staff to also upgrade the line and the coaching.
If they needed to retool the line and weapons and this year is a rebuilding year, they never should have spent all the money on a QB. Let Winston have one more shot and then make a move (unless Winston showed signs he could be your future QB). The big QB move should have happened next year based on the current talent on offense.
To be fair, Drew Breese is not Drew BreesHe’s not Drew Breese. But it would be nice to see what he can do with decent OLine play.
Today was a visual disappointment
It’s wild that knowing what they knew, the front office waited so long to draft 1 olinenman, and that guy was a project to begin with.Yes. Dennis Allen has completely bungled this situation. We can play the blame game all day, but if the O line was an issue and he didn't fix it in training camp...this is on him. If he didn't notice that these guys weren't any good in training camp, that is even worse!
Spending money on a QB when we have this for an O line is a waste. Are we really supposed to believe that no one had any idea our line was this bad?? I just can't understand what the plan was. He must know this is his last chance, and it is slipping away from him really quickly.
Carr has 7 total rushing yards through 6 games.
Carr is not an elite QB. Never has been. He’s a good QB. Good enough to win with if things around him are good. He’s not elevating anyone. And right now we have good WRs, good RBs, good defense…. But no OLine and horrid coaching.
The latter is killing the former.
Indeed QBs can make OCs look bad at times and like geniuses at other times. Believe me, the HC knows which is making the other look bad.I really think we have more of a Carr problem than an OC problem, with the Carr problem being heavily influenced by the OL problem.
