New Orleans Saints coaches are clearly that they expect the return of Marshon Lattimore at next week's mandatory minicamp practices.

By Ross Jackson - Saints News Network | SI

The next session of minicamps for the New Orleans Saints may be mandatory, but that has not stopped some NFL players form missing in the past. However, Saints coaches are expecting the opposite from star cornerback Marshon Lattimore who has been away for most of the offseason.

Head coach Dennis Allen was asked about his expectations around Lattimore's presence after mentioning that every player is anticipated to be present at mandatory minicamps. "That would be my expectation." Allen said plainly.

The sentiment was backed up by the team's defensive backs coach Marcus Robertson. "In my opinion he'll be at minicamp," Robertson said. "I'm not concerned about that. But I just wish we had time to work with him on just some of the little things, the little details that make the big differences down the line."

Robertson was clear that Lattimore's talent is outstanding, and highlighted that are things that could be worked on so that he can perform even better in 2024. Looking at Robertson's track record as a developer, one would expect that he is right on this. He highlighted technique as a big part of that growth opportunity. The team is clearly looking forward to working with him and having him back. ...

The highlights of that group include the 2009 Heisman Trophy Winner Mark Ingram, Jahri Evans, and Wayne Martin. Other names that spent time in New Orleans include Alex Brown, Ki-Jana Carter, Vaughn Dunbar, Craig Heyward, Ed King, Olin Kruetz, James Laurinaitis, Darrin...

Was Kool-Aid McKinstry or Chase Young the Saints' most dangerous pickup?

Kool-Aid McKinstry was labeled the New Orleans Saints’ most dangerous addition this offseason by Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler. This combined with the Saints secondary being considered the strength of the team brings a draft day question back to the forefront. Where does the second round cornerback fit in 2024?

The other option for the Saints’ most dangerous addition is Chase Young and arguably would have been a better fit. Health permitting, Young has a ready-made role on the team. He was brought in to a defensive line room that struggled to rush the passer. He was the most necessary...

Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is set to return to New Orleans for a Week 7 matchup. This will be Payton’s first time returning to New Orleans since his departure in 2022.

Payton would join the Denver Broncos just a year after his departure in a trade that awarded the Saints with a first-round pick. Payton went 8-9 with the Broncos in 2023, a three-win improvement from the season before. New Orleans has gone 16-18 under head coach Dennis Allen who replaced Sean Payton since his departure.

Defensive end Cameron Jordan was asked about the homecoming game for Payton to...

As we venture closer to kickoff for the 2024 NFL season, the quarterback position in the NFC North will be an intriguing battle between an experienced veteran making waves and newcomers on the rise.

The Detroit Lions reigned over the division last season — tying a franchise record with 12 regular season victories and an NFC Championship appearance against the San Francisco 49ers. In the Lions’ historic season, an extremely talented gunslinger played a huge role in the team’s success.

Here is where each starting quarterback in the NFC North ranks ahead of the 2024 season:

We’re on to Week 15 in our New Orleans Saints game previews, when the Washington Commanders will be making a visit to the Caesars Superdome. This is another game the Saints are early favorites to win, but there might not be a team more difficult to project than Washington in 2024.

There are very few commonalities between the current Commanders team and the squad that went 4-13 last season. Washington hired a new coaching staff led by former Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn and drafted a new quarterback in Jayden Daniels. They were top spenders in free agency, targeting players like...

The Minnesota Vikings, as well as many other teams, overhauled their quarterback rooms this offseason. Where do things stand with them now?

That question, along with many others, was answered by ESPN’s Mike Clay. He did the dirty work of using a formula to grade and sort every position unit for the entire NFL. The first one we are reviewing is the most important one: quarterback.

We’ve got 95 days to go until the New Orleans Saints kick off their 2024 season against the Carolina Panthers, which means the current owner of the No. 95 jersey is our Saints player of the day. That’s defensive tackle Jack Heflin, who spent the 2023 season on the Saints practice squad. He’s hoping to make the team in 2024. Here’s some more information about him:

There’s room for one more defensive tackle in the Saints’ rotation after they let Malcolm Roach leave in free agency, and while Khristian Boyd is the early favorite to win that roster spot we can’t rule out guys like Heflin...

There are 95 days to go until the New Orleans Saints open up their 2024 season, so we’re looking back at all of the players who have worn the No. 95 jersey in franchise history as we count down to kickoff.

Right now, No. 95 belongs to defensive tackle Jack Heflin. He’s returning from last year’s practice squad to try and compete for a spot on the 53-man roster in 2024. Before he picked it up, the number changed hands between a couple of defensive lineman — guys like Albert Huggins, Ryan Glasgow, and Margus Hunt. The most notable player to wear it might have been Tyeler Davison, who the Saints drafted in 2015 out of Fresno State.

Here’s the full list:

We’re picking up our series previewing every game on the New Orleans Saints’ schedule in 2024 with the New York Giants, who the Saints will visit after coming out of their bye week for a home game with the Los Angeles Rams. It remains to be seen if the Giants can compete with their NFC East rivals this year, but if the Saints hope to get into the playoff picture they won’t have the luxury of dropping a loss here.

The Saints haven’t played a game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium since the 2018 season, and a lot has changed for both teams. Eli Manning and Saquon Barkley aren’t in the...

Just how good can the New Orleans Saints running backs be? That’s a question Klint Kubiak is setting out to answer by installing his new offense, which will utilize more zone blocking concepts to open lanes and get offensive linemen out in space.

The Saints were below-average in every rushing metric last year, with Taysom Hill’s 401 rushing yards accounting for more of the team’s 21st-ranked total than either Jamaal Williams or Kendre Miller. But it’ll be Alvin Kamara taking point again. So how does that group stack up around the league?

In our most recent CSC poll, we asked what are you most looking forward to seeing between now and the start of the season for the New Orleans Saints?

After 318 votes, the overwhelming winner was the new offense under first year offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak with 83% of the votes. The Saints offensive play-calling was much maligned the last two seasons, and the team finally responded by letting go of long-time offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael. The Saints brought in Kubiak after a season as the passing game coordinator for the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers. The Saints still...
