A Big Shout Out to a local young man Edgerrin Cooper, a LB who was drafted in the 2nd round by the Green Bay Packers.
He's from Folsom, La., a small but busy little village on the Northshore above Covington (due north of New Orleans across Lake Pontchartrain) that is home to 2 red lights and has many horse farms and nurseries in the area.
Cooper was born in Covington, La. where he attended Covington High School and prepped for the CHS Lions (in the cow palace) before going to Texas A&M.
In an interesting twist, Green Bay used the 45th pick in the 2nd round to draft him, a pick they acquired from the Saints in the trade up for the Saints to draft Kool-Aid McKinstry.
Green Bay is getting a good young man and a hungry player who has very good closing speed that will deliver bone jarring hits when tackling.
