When you say we didn’t pick the position you wanted, or thought we needed, or didn’t pick the position early enough…..it’s easy to forget……we added the following players between last season and this. Many are young and high picks just 2-3 seasons ago. Some got here because of the contract game, like we lost Trey, Von, Marcus, etc.
But consider these are news Saints too…..

G- Ollie Udoh. He’s started and had success, and he’s 27
DE- Chase Young. 25 yo and a top draft pick
LB- Willie Gay. 26, great player, 2nd round pick
LB- Monty Rice. 25, many in Nashville thought he’d be a stud. Means he has the speed, tools, etc, it just didn’t click. But he’s so young and talented.

Add these in to our draft and we look even better.

Those first three aren’t new. They were on the team last year.
Hudson absolutely.
Robinson, while young, has been with 5 different organizations. Something’s amiss there.
But all the others I listed, and add Hudson…..there’s some real possibility

Exactly I don't know why people are upset. If a team going into the 5th round looking fill needs then the team is in very bad shape. Later rounds should be funding those hidden gems

Trey Von Marcus Kamara are 30. We dont have young ppl because our drafts sucked(not this year!)

My point is good players can be moved on due to contracts…..doesn’t mean they aren’t strong players.
Like when we let Trey, Elliss, Marcus, etc go.
Meanwhile, we picked up a few of these kind of guys.
