Ian Book: “I want to play like Drew Brees”

I was afraid of what I may have said. This isn’t that bad. I loved the way he conducted himself. Unfortunately that doesn’t always equate to success.
I’m glad all I said was something along the lines of I want him to do well in his first start like other successful mid round QBs did in recent history. Instead of declaring him as those QBs from overbelieving.

Desperate times during a losing stretch makes us want to believe underdog players especially late drafted rookie QBs are better than what they are or will become more than their capability. I don’t blame anyone who just wanted to see a rookie be great while we really needed wins and production at QB at the time.
